Our Dentists, Dental Assistants, Administration and Infection Control Staff have many years of dental experience. We provide a calm and friendly environment with modern equipment in a beautiful heritage building. We expect a lot of ourselves and therefore set a high standard of quality dental treatment and service for our patients’ peace of mind.
At Amazing Dental we understand that attending a dental appointment may not be high on everybody’s priority list. We hope that by providing a relaxed atmosphere with quality service, people will find the decision to attend less stressful. Reducing anxiety during appointments may help people to have regular dental check-ups and alleviate the need for emergency dental appointments, costly dental treatments or lost teeth.

Dr Johnny Chan
Principal Dentist
Qualifications: BDS. BSc(Dent), GDip Implant, GDip Ortho, MSc Laser in Dentistry, MSc Sleep Medicine, MSc Pain Management, FPFA
Dr Chan is an Australian-trained and qualified General Dentist with over 25 years of experience. He is also a qualified Dental Implantologist and a Master of Dental Laser Clinician, with special interests and experience in Orthodontics, Sleep Medicine, and orofacial pain (jaw pain and headaches).
Originally from Hong Kong, Dr Chan moved to Australia in 1988. After completing his HSC, Dr Chan began dental training at The University of Sydney. In 1997, Dr Chan graduated with double degrees in Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Bachelor of Science in Dental Research.
During his early career in 2000, Dr Chan has been working for many well-known orthodontists in Australia and the world. He has obtained a lot of experience from them to treat patients with brace and aligners. Since 2012, Dr Chan has been invited to assist teaching the orthodontic course conducted by the ADA. In 2020, Dr Chan furthered his qualification and obtained the graduate diploma of Orthodontics from James Cook University Dr Chan also has many years of experience in placing dental implants to replace missing teeth and implant-supported denture. In 2013, Dr Chan decided to hit the books again and formally qualified as dental implantologist from Charles Sturt University.
In 2019, Dr Chan became the first Australian dentist to obtain the international qualification of “Master of Science in Lasers in Dentistry” from RWTH University, one of only two universities in the world that can grant this qualification. In more recent years, Dr Chan has continued to educate himself further. He completed his Master of Science in Sleep Medicine in 2021 and Master of Science in Pain Management in 2023 from the University of Sydney.
Dr Chan speaks both English and Cantonese, lives locally and believes in “Giving back to the community” in the way of sponsoring local organisations, sports teams and working with local schools to provide work experience for our young local students.
Heidi
Treatment Co-ordindator
Heidi’s role as treatment co-ordinator at Amazing Dental brings with her to us with over 20 years of experience. Heidi has recently moved down from Sydney to the south coast and loves the friendly lifestyle change. Heidi has worked in many different surgeries over the years but since coming to Amazing Dental she has had to learn new technologies including Implant Surgery & Laser Dentistry which has revamped her passion for assisting and helping in all areas of our practice.
Heidi is caring and compassionate person who continues her passion and loves what she does here at Amazing Dental.
In Heidi’s spare time she enjoys going to the beach, fishing with her husband on their boat or just being near the water.
